At RKDA Movement & Athletics, we’re passionate about helping our members build lasting fitness success. Today, we wanted to share the story of how we got started and what makes our approach to fitness so different.
After years of working in various gyms, a troubling pattern emerged: clients were pushing themselves too hard, burning out, and often getting injured. We noticed that many people were missing a crucial foundation for long-term success. It became clear to us that a one-size-fits-all approach simply wasn’t working. So, we decided to make a change.
Our vision for RKDA was to create a personalized fitness experience—one that goes beyond generic classes and focuses on making fitness sustainable, effective, and personal. We believe that education and knowledge are key to giving our members the tools they need to take control of their fitness journey, making sure they set themselves up for lasting success.
Creating a Safe, Supportive, and Fun Environment
Our goal has always been to build an environment where members feel safe, supported, and excited about their fitness journey. We wanted a space where you can not only build strength and improve conditioning, but also rehab injuries—all under one roof. We also understand that group classes can be intimidating or discouraging, especially when you’re trying to keep up with others. That’s why we’ve designed our training programs with you in mind—focusing on your body, your abilities, and your goals. We’re here to help you achieve your fitness objectives at a pace that works for you, without the pressure to compare yourself to anyone else.
What’s Our Secret Sauce?
So, what’s behind the RKDA magic? It’s our unique semi-private training and small group model. This setup allows us to provide individualized programs for each of our members while still offering the support and motivation of a group environment. In our semi-private sessions, you’ll work alongside a few others, but each person has their own tailored program based on their specific needs. Whether it’s building strength, correcting imbalances, rehabbing injuries, or hitting new fitness goals, we focus on you and your unique journey.
But it doesn’t stop there. What truly sets us apart is our hands-on approach to accountability. We believe that true success comes from consistency, which is why we work closely with our members to not only coach them through each session but also help them stay on track with their workouts. We offer guidance on nutrition and provide accountability for the goals we set together. It’s a team effort—we’re all in this together, working toward the same goal: your fitness success.
Our Journey So Far
Our journey started back in 2019 when Brooke began training clients out of our garage. As our community grew, so did the challenges. We faced noise complaints from neighbors and parking issues. After nearly a year of searching for the perfect space, we were thrilled to open the doors to RKDA Movement & Athletics in October 2023.
We couldn’t be more excited about this new chapter and the opportunity to serve our clients in a space designed to help them thrive. We’re beyond grateful to be able to do what we love, and we’re so thankful for everyone who has trusted us with their fitness journey.
